Old Sauna
“ Like most saunas at the time, this one also used to work as the only washing place and multitask space for a family of seven back in the 40s. Later on, the grandkids of Viljo and Annikki started to call this sauna as the "Granny'sBlackSauna". The sauna still has the traditional handcrafted tub stove which gives an exceptionally comfortable heat and steam. The unique atmosphere of the sauna has been formed through decades of usage and love. ”
The Old Sauna (Wanhasauna) is a traditional Finnish lakeside sauna. The stove of the sauna is heated beforehand and does not require more heating while bathing. The sauna building also has an old fashioned warm water tank and a dressing room. The sauna can take up to six people at a time.
New Sauna and Old Sauna are located in the same building, only some 20 from the lakefront.
“Enjoying the steam and autumn atmosphere with our small group. Soft, lingering steam you don’t get from just any stove. Extra points for the dim light. Already experineced Niemi-Kapee's smoke sauna and lake sauna. this was definitely worth the try. ”

“We booked both Wanha and Ranta sauna for the evening. It was great having two different saunas. The water was refreshing, everyone still dared to go in. Finished off with "makkarat" at the kota - a good night’s sleep is guaranteed! ”

“Such a soft steam! Spirit of the sauna is mystic, connected to something old. Makes me want to come back to Tampere someday. ”
